For those so inclined, The Daily Office Morning Prayer John Donne, Priest, 1631
I woke after eight hours of restful sleep.
It looks like the same old, same old, weather-wise.
I'm at least starting the week within the target range(70-110).

I made a stupid mistake yesterday at church. I promised Irma, the woman in charge of the nursery that I'd make her another pot of coffee for during, and after, the 1030hrs Mass. I was in a rush to leave after the 0930hrs Mass and when she asked, as I was leaving, if I was going to maked another pot (she even said please). I responded no as I ran, well, hobbled away. I will make up for it Sunday, but still, I broke promise and was rude.

I wooke after eight hours of sound sleep.bedtime
morning wake-up
The weather (as predicted) will mean another day of restricted movement (I don't drive in the rain, except to church)
Another disappointing number. I shouldn't have eaten that bowl of cereal before bed.
Mr. Mistofolees sometimes joins with me in reciting the daily office.

If I understood during my conversation with Garion, Brother Don's grandkids and families are planningon a "Surf and Turf" birthday celebration this afternoon. I was invited during the conversation. We'll see how that goes. Also in brother Don news the VA is sending a contractor to his houme to install a walk in shower. He's no longer able to step over the side of the tub to take a shower.

The weather predicted for today means I'll be staying in for the day.

For those so inclinedd, The Daily Office Morning Prayer Wednesday after the Third Sunday in Lent
I was late going to bed last night.
I woke to the alarm after about seven and a hlaf hours of siund sleep.
This number is lower than expected considering all the cookies I ate at the veteran's meeting last night.
I received a text from Dr. Ricky last night.
So I guess the morning is going to be preparing for his visit. I guess he forgot jhtat he was going to try scheduling me for afternoon visits on Wednesday (Scrabble Day), or he just couldn't work me in for this afternoon.

I "went off" on a rant at the meeting last night. My gripe was about veterans going balistic over the lack of respect they received, when returning from Vietnam, then turning around and voting for a draft dodger, of that conflict. Trump puts a billioniare mega-donor (Elon Musk) in charge of a fake government agency he christened the Department of Government Effiency (DOGE), who then proceeds to fire all the probationasry federal workers (m large number of whom are themselves veterans themselves) who were hired to help clear the backlog on claims at the Department of Veteran's Affairs.

For those so incliined, The Daily Office Morning Prayer The Annunciation of Our Lord Jesus Christ to the Blessed Virgin Mary
I woke after seven hours of sound sleep.
The weather is still cooperating with kkeeping the electric bill in check.
no comment.

I accomplished absoloutely nothing yesterday. Today probably won't be much different. It's my brother's birthday and he informed me that he didn't want any special attention about it. I called to see if he'd like to go to Smithhearts for lunch. I received a call from Jimmy asking if I needed the Mercury today. He said my brother has a clinic appointmet at 1400hrs to request a walk in shower. I think he ws just "blowing smoke" nd that they're really just going to the China Star buffet for lunch.

The veteran's group meets tonight. I'll ask Eloy for a ride because I doubt they'll return in time for me to gget the vehicle fueled up and get to the meeting on time. The fuel display indicates seventy eight miles until empty, and whenever the vehicle is returned to me it's usually closer to empty.

I woke after twelve yours of sound sleep.
The weather looks good budget-wise.
Robert strayed from his diet yesterday!

Even after twelve hours of sleep, I ended up sleeping for another ten hours on the couch ad getting nothing accomplished today.

For those so inclined, The Daily Office Morning Prayer
I woke after seven hours of sound sleep.
The weather is looking "iffy", rain, for bringing William to church for the 1030hrs Eucharist.
It's a good start to the week, blood glucose-wise.

For those so inclined, The Daily Office Morning Prayer Saturday after the Second Sunday in Lent James De Koven, Priest, 1879
I woke to a soft purring in my ear after six and one half hours of sound sleep.
It would appear the weather has caught up with the clalendar.
It's a good feeling to wake up to a good number (even if it is at the top limit of the target range).

At 0915hrs- I'm waiting for a call back from the eorker at Big Plans Lanscaping. =&bvsp; He said during his call yesterday that if I don't hear from him by 1000hr today I should call him. I'm hoping I've gleaned the ciorrect nuber in the list of recent calls on my phone.

For those so inclined, The Dily Office Morning Prayer Friday after the Second Sunday in Lent Thomas Ken, Bishop of Bath and Wells, 1711
I woke after seven hours of sound sleep.
The weather is still cool in the mornings warming in the afternoons.
This was the number this morning.
And this before bedtime was the reason.
Tsk, tsk, tsk.
Dream Big Custom Landscaping is suppossed to send someone this morning to give an estimate on replacing the vinyl underpinning with brick.
I'd like to have it done before hurricane season starts. It will depend on the cost and financing. I don't really want to take on any debt until the mortgage is paid (hopefully by the end of this year).Strong wind events are common. Even during the "off hurricaneseason" it's not uncommon for some of the vinyl panels to get carried off to parts unknown.- At 1100hrs- I just received a call from Mike about the estimate work for replacing the underpinning. He's busy today, so we rescheduled for tomorrow morning.

I'll post this on the catching my eye today page.

For those so inclined, The Daily Office Morning Prayer Cuthbert, Bishop of Lindisfarne, 687
I woke after countless hours of tossing and turning, possibly a result of sleeping too much during the day yesterday.
The persistant winds probably added to my inability to get a good night's rest.
Still, as far as blood glucose number it's a good start to what will be a long day.

It's Geezer Breakfast Day. It's Ronnies's day to pay and I'd like to return to Denny's in Lake Jackson, but I think we'll end up staying in Angleton. Even though we'll be greeted at the door by our regular waitress and she'll bring coffee without even asking, Ronnie will still nearly stiff her when it comes to leaving a tip. Cecile, his wife, says he's a stingy tipper no matter where or what type service he gets. As embarrassing as that is, it's nearly as embarrassing as when I would go to a restuarant with my friend John.Depnding o how attractive he thought the server, he would leave a 100% tip at the drop of a hat.

Tonight is vestry night. I better catch a nap this afternoon or I'll disturb the meeting with my snoring.

For those so inclined, The Daily Office Morning Prayer St. Joeseph
I woke after seven hours of sound sleep.
It would appear that March is going out like a lamb.
This number, hopefully, indicates readings back in line with the target range.  I did get up once in the middle of the night to "sugar so low" that I had to use the urinal I keep at the side of the bed. Spooked, I managed the short walk to the kitchen to check the reading. It was down to 70. I ate two teaspoons of no sugar added peanut butter to stop my head from "spinning" and mde it back to bed.

For those so inclined, The Daily Office Morning Prayer Tuesday after the Second Sunday in Lent Cyril, Bishop of Jerusalem, 386
I woke after eight hours of sound sleep.
The weather is giving the electric bill a bbreak.
It must be the result of the Angus Beef Cheeseburger before bed.

The nurse that I thought was going to arive at 0800hrs yesterday never did. I called both DeBakey VAMC and th community provider (MYnurse Home Care Inc.). The  associate" at DeBakey said the scheduled appointment was with the community provider and the community provider associate said that I'm not scheduled for another visit until May.
Today is veteran's court day and the meeting at HCEC that follows. I'll make it to the meeting, but not the court session. Eloy informed me last week that Steve Cook, the mentor coordinator, is leaving. He's moving out of the area to be close to his grandchildren. The court baliff and his wife, Ray and Barbara Marin were both in church Sunday after a long absence. Fr. Preston was the celebrant and he added a special prayer request for Ray, who was scheduled for a biopsy this week. Fr Preston also added a Hail Mary to the prayers of the people. I truly found that to be a special addition as it's the first prayer in addition to the Lord's Prayer that I learned, and was admonished by my older brother James to never recite in his presence. James was virulent anti-Catholic. I'll have to ask Fr Preston if he received any negative feedback about it.  I'm under the impression that the hail Mary never passes Fr Travis' lips.

Speaking of Fr Travis, he asked Doc Carpenter about OTC medications for liver health. We, Doc Carpenter and myself, both responded that there are none.
It's been my impresion is that Fr Travis is heavy drinker and may have been informed that he has a liver condition that will only be "mmade less harmful" by the absence of sugar and alchohol. Two people in my life have been through a horrific deatth by liver failure or COPD from cigarette smoking.

For those so inclined, The Daily Office Morning Prayer Monday after the Second Sunday in Lent Patrick, Bishop and Missionary of Ireland, 461
I woke aftereight hours of sound sleep
The temperasture forecast for this week will be kind to the electric bill. It doesn't really matter as the plumbing at the garden ub has a slow leak that will eat up any reserve funds on a visit from the plumber.
