For those so inclined, The Daily Office Morning Prayer

It may look like I don't get much sleep, but I go to bed around 1800hrs so waking at 0247hrs means I slept for about eight hours forty seven minutes. Figuring in the midnight trips to the bathroom maybe seven hours total.

I've been online to the bank and my estimated beginning balance after deposits was three dollars short. The spreadsheet for November shows a decent remaining balance if I keep spending in check and there aren't any "emergencies" like another $277.00 tire replacement.

If I'm to trust the news reporting of the MSM and Trump regains the presidency, the Republicans take control of the Senate, and Elon Musk (who has predicted "evenly distributed economic pain" to fix the economy) is appointed some type of budget czar I fully see the wet dream of the GOP to reduce the dollar amount of disability compensation to combat wounded veterans be realized. It was last proposed by George HW Bush during the seond Reagan/Bush administration in the late 1980s.
In the years since being retired from the army for physical disability and entering the VA system of health care and compensation a frequent question asked after being thanked for my service is how much, how much do I receive. I usually respond that I'm rated at one hundred percent service connected, the information is available online. When pressed, however, I respond with the amount. Some say you deserve that much and more. Others complaion that I receive way too much and that what I, and other disabled veterans, receive is one of the reasons the government can't balance the budget. "Fine" I say, but get back to me if your child joins the military and is wounded in action, then tell me what he/she deserves as a fair amount of compensation. Those folks most often respond that their child has "better options" than to join the military. It's those folks who make the words, "thank you for your service" fall flat. They seem also to be the ones who frost their words of gratitude with some political point driven words of division. "It's a shame about how you guys were treated when you returned." If I thought it would land somewhere near what they pretend to be their heart I would respond," and thank you for reopenning that wound." Because, you see, saying thank you is the only compensation they really belive is warranted.
