For those so inclined, The Daily Office Morning Prayer

Breakfast with Ronnie was a nice break from the recent news. The only glitch was that my AMEX Optima card was declined. I have a hunch it has something to do with freezing the gold card. I'll try using it online later today.
I used my debit card, which also almost didn't work. I tipped Joshua $8.00 in front of his brother who is the manager at the Denny's we frequent, just let him know how serious I am when I say Joshua is the (IMHO) best server he's hired at that location.

So, this is the state of Christianity in The United States of America. Christians will lose their shit over an "R" rated movie coming into their living rooms via television, and then turn around and vote to put a serial sex offender and convicted felon into the Oval Office. I don't know that I wish to remain associated with such a segment of the population.
I've decided, at the least, to reduce my monthly contribution to the church from $500 to $10.00 My rationale is that should Elon Musk be made some sort of economy expert in the new administration and he goes after the dollar amount of disability compensation paid to disabled veterans (a Reopublican wet dream since George Herbert Walker Bush was in office). I, in a similar economic move, must reduce my discretionary spending. Until the dollar amount I receive from the Veteran's Administration is safely secured from budgetary cutting, it will be necessary to watch my spending and charitable contributions. The greatest threat to the status now given me (100% permanately sevice connected disabled) may come under review if the structure follows the comments of Republicans who've expressed the theory that permanent ratings encourage veterans to attempt scamming the government.

  1. Evening Wrap. I took the trash out and cleaned the litter box. I use a tall shopping cart (the type used by old ladies) to get all this stuff to the trash bin. There're no brakes on the cart so after the contents were transferred to the trash it rolled into the street. I couldn't step off the curb to retrieve it without tripping. A car stopped and a younger Hispanic guy got out retrieved the cart for me and made certain I made it back up the ramp to the front door. I couldn't help but be thankful he hasn't yet been sent to a detention camp by tRump.
