For those so inclined, The Daily Office Morning Prayer>
I really do have to get around to correcting the date and time on this meter!

In this morning's Email CNN is reporting that scientists in Siberia have found the mummified remains of a sabre-toothed tiger cub. quoting the linked article, "CNN-A mummified ice age cub from Siberia is the first known mummy of a saber-toothed cat, and its discovery is generating ripples of excitement among paleontologists. The mummy’s exceptional preservation provided the first view of what saber-toothed cats looked like. Written in its soft tissues are clues about where the cat’s muscles were bulkiest and how that may have shaped its hunting style."
In addition to setting the correct time and date on my blood glucose meter I should also go through the list of subscriptions in my mail server and unsubscribe to the sites in which I'm no longer interested.
If the weather is clear this morning I'll take the vehicle to the inspection station and then get it registered for another year. I'm becoming more hesitant of driving in the rain. Speaking of which I may respond to Eloy's offers to give me a ride to the veteran's meeting this evening. Driving in the dark on Sunday mornings when traffic is super light is one thing, driving in the dark of weekday evenings (especially during "rush hour") is quite another.

Fr Travis called yesterday evening to check on my condition. I thanked him for his call and told him that I was recovering from Sunday's "incident". I did not say anything about the location of the unventilated restroom with the door opening directly into the kitchen, which has been a bone of contention with me since the first time I saw it. Slightly off topic-I may sneak a roll of quality toilet paper in there. I'm also thankful that the whole business didn't occur when I was at Walmart buying the mufffins.

I talked with my older brother Don yesterday. I called to let him know our younger brother, Bill, was still in the hospital and would remain there until he has a bowel movement. Don is concerned that with a Republican majority in control of government, " I'll lose my Social Security" There's no talking him down from those fears as long as he stays glued to the podcasts and programs that he listens to on the Internet. I told hin I shared his concerns when it comes to the disability compensation I receive from the Veteran's Administration, but as the processes of government are outside of my sphere of influence I'm staying aware, but not panicked.
I'm somewhat ashamed that I reminded him that had he not talked (in my opinion lied) me into moving to Texas I would be living mortgage free in Georgia. I need to let go of that resentment. I just now scheduled the mortgage payment with an additional one thousand dollars on the principle. I'll wait until next week to schedule the rest of my bills. In this respect the Internet service is the one of the best things that came down the pike. I love the convenience of not having to write and mail checks.

Great news from my younger brother. He's home from the hospital. The veteran's meeting was well attended and productive. I accepted Eloy's offer for a ride. I was, therefore, much less stressed when I arrived home.
