For those so inclined; The Daily Office Morning Prayer
It doesn't look like a yard work week weather-wise. A cat in his natural habitat (in the middle of a doorway).
He stops there to check his reflection in the framed poster for The Lark, a Springer Theater production in which I was given an add-on part of a soldier. The director had already cast the play before I had a chance to audition. After hearing me read (I explained I was appearing as Willard the jailer in the Ft Benning production of The Crucible during auditions) he said let's hear what I missed, and gave me chance to read. Afterward he said he couldn't change the cast, but was so impressed that he added a nonspeaking role between a soldier standing outside the Dauphin's residence and Joan. He said it was too risky to add lines as that would be a copyright infringement for which Samuel French could sue the Springer. Long story short, the director invited me to move to Philadelphia and join the theater group where he was on staff. Ah, the rainy day daydreams this recollection will inspire! I went on to appear as John, the butler, in The Man Who Came to Dinner, Rex Bulbee (another nonspeaking add on role) in The Secret Affairs of Mildred Wilde, and I was the property master for the production of How The Other Half Lives. My last onstage appearance at the Springer was as a chorus member of their production of Hello Dolly.

The metformin arrived today so I'm looking forward to gettuing my blood sugar under control berfore the twentieth. Te verteran's meeting was productive. We decided not to meet on Christmas eve.
