I woke after about ten or eleven hours of sound sleep.
The weather is looking good, utility bill wise.
This is what I get for treating myself to a bowl of Wheaties with whole milk just before going to bed.

A member of the veteran's group called yesterday. We had a fun conversation about the state of affairs beyond our realm of influence. We discussed federal benefits and how they are federally funded and managed and distributed locally. The discussion was prompted by the orange Caligula's exective order freezing federal grants and benefits. We also had a go around about the accident at Ronald Reagan Airport in D.C. - Related Youtuber report

For those so inclined, The Daily Office Morning Prayer

I woke after twelve hours of sound sleep.
The weather this week will give the light bill a break.
Gotta keep trying. This is eleven points over the target.

I called Cecile last night and cancelled my breakfast date with Ronnie (her husband). We've been going to breakfast every Thursday for at least a decade. It started out with six of us from Holy Comforter and St Mary's. Ronnie and I are the only living members of the original group. Cecile had the good sense to take Ronnie's car keys away from him about a year ago. I dread the day when I make the same decision for myself. It is, I fear, coming at me faster than an eighteen wheeler on the wrong side of the road, or is it me that's on the wrong side?

I received a get well card from Linda, a true and faithful friend since we appeared togeter in The Crucible back in the twentieth century. I accompanied her on a voyage to New York City where we lived together for a summer whilst chasing the "making it in the theater scene".;

I woke after seven hours of restful sleep.
The weather forecast indicates a break for the Reliant bill (already over $300).
Sixteen points over the limit is not what that for which I worked.

I'm going to attempt a trip to the parish house and enjoy a game of Scrabble.I tried to make it to the veteran's group last night, but I just didn't feel comfortable standing and walking.
Well, that's not going to work out. I'm not as steady as I thought. Walking back from the kitchen with a cup of coffee I fell into the couch, spilling the coffee and "taking some of the wind out of my sails." I've discovered that when standing or walking if I turn my head quickly, to the left mostly, the rest of my body wants to follow and I'm more likely to stumble or fall. I need to mention this during my clinic appointment of the fifth. I just don't want to jeprodize my driving status.
My back is feeling much better, I'm guessing almost completely healed.
I ordered bread, cat food, Wjeaties, and breakfast bowls from Walmart. I splurged (again) and had it scheduled for delivery in less than three hours.

For those so inclined, The Daily Office Morning Prayer Monday after the Third Sunday after the Epiphany John Chrysostom, Bishop of Constantinople, 407
I went to bed efore the news broadcast
Not anticipating a cold front I kept the central heat turned off.
Woke tyhis morning after twelve or so hours of restful sleep.
The outdoor temperature was a bit nippy.
But the indoor temperature is a comfortable 73° f. And this number makes the day start great.

I'll meet with Dr. Rickey, physical therapist, for the first time this afternoon. My back is feeling much better day by day. I have to work at regaining some of the strength I've lost on my left side. I made it to the mailbox yeesterday and collected the letter from Wells Fargo Mortgage informing me that my account has been transfered to a "Mr. Cooper." I should be receiving a letter from him informming me of how, when, and where I should send the February payment. The whole process reeks of an imprisioned Nigerian prince, with an Email account, wanting my bank info so he can transfer his millions of dollars out of his country. For those so inclined, The Daily Office Morning Prayer The Third Sunday after the Epiphany
I woke after nearly twelve hours of uninterrupted sleep.
It was a relief to wake without hearing the fan motor of the furnace.
And this lifts my spirits!
Fr. Travis sent a text yesterday inquiring about my presence in church this morning. I responded that I'm aiming at getting out and about Wednesday for a good game of Scrabble.  The physical therapist is coming tomorrow for evaluation and therapy. Hopefully the exercises he teaches will do something to make it easier for me to sit or stand upright for longer than ten minutes without the "compression" in my chest that makes it hard to breathe.

I'm hoping to get out of the house and getting my snail mail from the cluster box. I also have to exchange the boxer briefs I purchased from Walmart (wrong size) and cash the lottery tickets I've been holding since December.

My brother Don hasn't bothered to call since I returned from the hospital. I've given up on calling him as he never answers the phone, or calls back on the same day.

For those so inclined, The Daily
Office Morning Prayer The Conversion of St. Paul the Apostle

I woke after eleven hours of restful sleep.
It was a bit colder than I expected.
This is still hovering around where it be. I'm guessing it's the wheaties with cold whole milk with which I treated myself before bed.
The following was sent to my phone after I was asleep yesterday; "Hey, good evening this is Dr. Rickey the physical therapist. I have Mr. Robert on my schedule tomorrow for an evaluation and wanted to see if I could swing by around 10-1030 tomorrow morning. Let me know if this will work. If not, I can reschedule to next week. Thanks"  I'll text back at 0600hrs to ask that he reschedule between Monday and Thursday next week. Hopefully, he'll have either Monday or Tuesday open. I was hoping to go to Java Jive this week and enjoy a good game of Scrabble. My back is feeling better, so far, this morning. I'm going to give it one more day of resting at home and start back to church next week.
I'm finding it both troubling and a relief to stop watching network news, along with skipping over most of my subscriberd politically oriented YouTube channels. The mayhem and distractions that the orange Caligula is spewing like an elderly nursing home resident demonstrating his opinion of the oatmeal at breakfast has the media (broadcast, print, and social media platforms) eating out of the palm of his hand.
The "Life Alert system"
was left at the front door yesterday. Those who arrive there must think the doorbell is some type of detonator as no one (with the exception of one delivery person from Walmart) ever bothers to ring the bell to let me know there's someone at the door.

I woke after nine hours of restful sleep.
The "warm up" is on the way. I turned the thermostat down to 64°f this morning. It'll be intersting to see what setting it at 68° during the coldest weather last week will do to the electrtic bill.
This makes me happy!

I do believe my back is vearly completely recovered. I called the clinic in Lake Jackson yesterday to let them know I was hospitalized four days. I was told to bring the paperwork I received when discharged.  I was only given a generalized list of things to do when I arrived home and no real information on diagnosis or treatment. The clinic should be able to get that info at their networked work stations.
Bedtime.
It shouldn't be thast cold tonight.

For those so inclined, The Daily Offfice Morning Prayer Phillips Brooks, Bishop of Massachusetts, 1893

It was a long night of trips to the bathroom, changing boxer shorts and loading the bedding into the washing machine.
The "warming trend" is on the way, which means the electric bill might get a break next month.
As I did absolutely nothing, nor eaten anything, yesterday that I haven't done or eaten for the last week, this is baffling.

We're under a winter storm alert, a rare event in this area.
The storm door at the front is covered with sleet, and the local television stations are all agag
On the bright side this morning - the blood glucose reading.
Mr. Mistofellees spends most of his winter days tight there.
All local programming on the thre major networks have, it seems, been replaced with continuing coverage of the winter storm.

My back is getting better, I guess, but I'm still only able to sit here at the desktop or stand at the kitchen sink for abouot five to ten minutes before I have to lay down or sit somewhere it's supported.

For those so inclined, The Daily Office Morning Prayer>
After a "rocky start" I had at least twelve hours of restful sleep. I woke to a chilly morning.
The deep freeze is on the horizon.
ere's a number in which I can rerjoice.
This is the second day in a row the glucose reading is below 100, something that I couldn't acheive even with a carb control diet in the hospital. It must be the absence of Haggan-Daz!

I was awakened by a call from Ashley asking if I was feeling better and would be going to church this morning. I answered, "getting there and nope."
It's getting dangerously cold for folks in this part of the country this week. I hope the wrap on the pipe leading under the home annd dripping faucests at night will be enough to prevent the pipes from freezing and bursting.
I'm truly trying to stay on track when it comes to this number.
