For those so inclined, The Daily Office, Morning Prayer The Third Sunday after Pentecost
I woke after eight hours of souhnd sleep.
The weather forecast.
Another good fasting number.

I woke wondering If I had scheduleed the mortgage payment, went online to discover I had not, so that was the first order of business today.

Well, I made a total ass of myself at church today. When I was leaving (after bursing with Lori) I met fr. Travis and his son Andrew on the way to my vehicle. fr. Travis stayed with me to make certain I got down the steps from the deck at the back of the parish house without falling. The conversation turned to vacations and Andrew, age nine or ten, mentioned Disneyland. long lines and too expensive were the main topic of discussion until I said something along the line of I didn't like Mickey Mouse and that he and Donald Duck don't wear pants. Stupid! Stupid! comment in the company of a nine or ten year old. I was talking with and making a joke with fr. Travis, like I usually do, and totally ignored Andrew's presence until he, Andrew, said no pants. It's one reason I don't feel comfortable around kids. I know how to talk around adults, well almost, but kids, not so much.

For those so inclined, The Daily Office, Morning Prayer Friday after the Second Sunday after Pentecost
I've no idea how many actual sleep hours I had last night before Mr. Mistofellees finally got me to get out of bed.
The weather forecast.
The result of an ice cream binge yesterday afternoon.πŸ˜žπŸ™Ž‍♂️
It probably spiked over 200 yesterday. That's it! No more ice cream or treats!
I have an example of what can happen when one doesn't mind one's health living next door.

For those so inclined, The Daily Office, Morning rayer Wednesday after the Second Sunday after Pentecost
I woke after eight hours of sound sleep.
The weather forecast.
A good number on a rainy day.πŸ‘πŸ˜Š
I did wake at 0200hrs, feeling light heaeded annd shakey, so I did a reading then.
The reading was not that low, but two teaspoons of no sugar added peanut butter calmed things down so I could go back to sleep.

I missed Scrabble today. Mood Swing.
There is a new member of the veteran's group as of last night. His name is Famous. That's not a typo, that's his name. He's currently in the Guard Reserve (Army). He seemed to appreciate my attitude toward the "thank you for your service" crap. A recurring topic in discussions at the meetings is that civilians have no understanding of what it does to one's life to serve in the military. "They don't get it" and "they don't have a clue" are frequently expressed comments during discussions about PTSD. I compare the "Thank you for your service" response to the smiley face "Have a nice day" slop of the 1970s on the same sincerity scale. How is one to perceive the sincerity of "thank you for your service" from someone that one says has no idea of what that service entails. My response (mostly unspoken) is I'm not your waiter, this is not my station, just make sure the check is good and on time.
During most veteran's meetings I'm not that outspoken about this topic. Thinking back I believe it's those times that I am that shape my mood the following day.
For those so inclined, The Daily Office, Evening Prayer Wednesday after the Second Sunday after Pentecost

For those so inclined, The Daily Office, Morning Prayer Saturday after Trinity Sunday (Proper 6)
I woke after eight hours of sound sleep.
The weather forecast.
A good day starts with a good number.πŸ‘πŸ˜Š

Like yesterday, this day starts with a mood swing. I heard from a parishioner who hasn't been to church in like forever. She's had recurring bouts of bronchitis and is scheduled to have another back surgery on the twenty seventh. During her last extended absence from church I would make a home visit and bring her communion after I attended the 0830hrs Mass. She asked that I do so tomorrow, and I agreed after reminding her that she needs to request such through either Father Preston or Father Travis. It will make for a very busy morning as I'm still commited to giving William a ride to and from church for the 1030hrs Mass.

For those so inclined, The Daily Office, Evening Prayer
Mood Swing and off to bed at 1514hrs. Good night.

I woke after nine hours of sound sleep.
The weather forecast.
A truly sorry blood glicose reading created by too much ice cream yesterday afternoon.😞😞

Even though the weather forecaste calls for a rainy day, it may well be as accurate as yesterday. I had feared I wouldn't be able to give William a ride to church because of the rain in the forecast. As it turned out, it was a bright sunny day all day.
Guess who's fallen into a deep sleep this morning.

I think My being away from the house for so long on Sndays tires him out. I, myself, am thinking of crashing on the couch.

For thoyse so inclined, The Daily Office, Morning Pray Trinity Sunday

I woke after six hours of sound sleep.
The weather forecast.
Blood sugar is looking good.

i'm currently at Holy Comforter waiting on William. From what I reemember of Fr. Preston's sermon at 08300hrs William should be out any minute. Doc Carpenter tasked Tom Long IV with boursing today. I had told her I would do it if she didn't mind waiting for twenty minutes or so while I take William home. Good old Tom Long IV. I want to stop at HEB on the way home and I'd like to get there bfore the after 1100hrs Methodists and Roman Catholics crowd in with the same idea. Basically the same folks who live by the ten commandments (myself included I guess) don't see the irony in their shopping habits encouraging employers to force their employees to work on the sabbath.
