I woke after eight hours of sound sleep. The weather forecast.A good number on a rainy day.👍😊I did wake at 0200hrs, feeling light heaeded annd shakey, so I did a reading then.
I missed Scrabble today. Mood Swing.
There is a new member of the veteran's group as of last night. His name is Famous. That's not a typo, that's his name. He's currently in the Guard Reserve (Army). He seemed to appreciate my attitude toward the "thank you for your service" crap. A recurring topic in discussions at the meetings is that civilians have no understanding of what it does to one's life to serve in the military. "They don't get it" and "they don't have a clue" are frequently expressed comments during discussions about PTSD. I compare the "Thank you for your service" response to the smiley face "Have a nice day" slop of the 1970s on the same sincerity scale. How is one to perceive the sincerity of "thank you for your service" from someone that one says has no idea of what that service entails. My response (mostly unspoken) is I'm not your waiter, this is not my station, just make sure the check is good and on time.
During most veteran's meetings I'm not that outspoken about this topic. Thinking back I believe it's those times that I am that shape my mood the following day.
For those so inclined, The Daily Office, Evening Prayer Wednesday after the Second Sunday after Pentecost
I lay down around 1200hrs and slept the day away. It's 2000hrs. Bedtime. Good night.
