For those inclined, The Daily Office, Morning Prayer
I woke after eight hours of soound sleep.
The weather forecast (The rain in which not looking good for water heater replacement).
A good number for my birthday!πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘πŸ˜‡πŸŽ‚

As earlier mentioned, today is my birthday, the seventy seventh year begins today. Ceciel and Ronnie are supposed to take me to lunch at my least favorite restaurant in town this afternoon. I'll call the plumber who's supposed to be changing out or repairing the water heater today, to see if I have to reschedule the lunch.
In addition to being treated to lunch by one's friends this is how one celebrates one's seventy-seventh birthday!πŸ€£πŸ˜‡

Bedtime at 1730hrs. Good Night.

For those inclined, The Daily Office, Morning Prayer
I woke after six hours of sound sleep.
The weatjher forecast.
The morning number wrecked by a Whopper with cheese, all the way, and a large order of fries just before bed.πŸ™Ž‍♂️😠😴
Today's the big swap water heaters day. I'm hoping they'll be ale to replace the heater element and or anode, but there will be a replacement unit on the truck, so I'm thinking ye olde checking account will take a hit for at least a thousand bucks. The failed unit being serviced or replaced today was installed by the same company twelve years ago for $750 so I'm expecting a proice increase.

The PTSD meeting went off the rails in a good way last night. Two participants got into sharing military stats and history as related to their service and because they opened up without drama it was, in my opinion, a healiing experience.

I woke after nine hours of sound sleep.
The weatjher forecast.
Three points over target!πŸ™Ž‍♂️😞

Well, I got around to vacuumming the living room, hall, and office. But, when I went to wash dishes I discovered there's no hot water. I called Luycx Plumbing (they installed the current water heater) and they hope to be out sometime tomorrow. If they can't make it tomorrow they'll try scheduling it for Thursday. The bill was $750 the last time. I'm not thrilled about seeing what it will cost this time.

A good number on end the week.πŸ˜‡πŸ‘πŸ˜Š

I'm getting ready for an 0830hrs appointment at the clinic in Lake Jackson this Monday, by not binging on ice cream. I'm working hard at not regaining the weight I've lost and keeping my blood sugar numbers within range.

For those so inclined, The Daily Office, Morning Prayer, Thomas a Kempis, Priest, 1471
I woke after six hours of sound sleep.
The weather forecast is looking good for a visit to my brother and a stop at Kroger today, not so much tomorrow.
This is a good way to start the day (blood glucose-wise).πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘πŸ˜‡

I didn't make it out of the house yesterday. I spent most of the day online scheduling bill payments for August.

I woke after eight hours of sound sleep.
The weather forecast.
The number one gets after an evening meal of a Whopper with cheese all the way and a larger order of fries(not to mention forgetting to take one's meds before going to bed!πŸ˜ πŸ™Ž‍♂️

Last night's veteran's meeting was well attended. I saw Fr. Travis, Schibon, and Doc Carpenter, heading to the garden for upkeep chores.
On the agenda today, a visit with my brother Don after a game of Scrabble at the parish house.

I woke after eleven hours of sound sleep.
The weather forecast.
A disappointing number to start the week, but expected.πŸ™Ž‍♂️😞
William was in a good mood during the ride to and from church yesterday. He brought the altar flowers home so for at least the ride back to his house the Mercury had the aroma of a hanging car freshener I visited my brother at Cypress Woods after bringing William home. He was not a happy camper, which is understandable.

I woke after seven hours of intermittent sleep.
The weather forecast.
Now this is a number with which I can live!πŸ˜‡πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘

Sydney and Jimmy are "flipping" the rooom arrangements next door in anticipation of my brother being discharged at the end of the twenty day approval from Veteran's Tricare insurance for the rehab stay at Cypress Woods. Sydney and Jimmy will move into Sydney's childhood bedroom (currently my brother's office) and Don will move into the main (master) bedroom suite when he comes home. They're still looking for an affordable hospital bed and other equipment he'll need. He'll also need more than a three times a week visit from a home asssistant. We'll see how all that goes.

The veteran's meeting is tonight. I plan on making it this week. I was in no mood to listen last week. Actually, I think most members of the group are guarded about what they'll share. That's a good thing, as we're not there to give direct advice or act like professional consolers. The church prepares and provides one meal a week to home bound parishioners and leaves several portions in the fridge for the veterans. The fridge is the first place the facillitator goes to when he arrives. There's always a tasty dessert and fruit of some type. Speaking truthfully I confess that I'll sometimes snatch a dessert, or two.

I woke after twelve hours of sound sleep.
The weather forecast.
Another happy number start to the day.πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘πŸ˜‡

It's going to be a long haul taking care of my brother. The blister on his foot split whle he ws in UTMB Angleton/Danbury so they got him out of there tout de suite. As no one, myself included, was researching nursing home/rehab facilities Sydney and her mom (at one time in her life a nurses aide) agreed with UTMB and took him to Cypress Woods, accross the street from UTMB. After visiting the website and reading the online reviews, I'm not thrilled, to say the least. I talked with Sydney. She and her mom did not have a favorable impression, and so they're trying to find a better place for him to recover. I told Sydney to check with the social worker at the VA clinic in Lake Jackson. I believe there's a VA rehab facility in Houston.
I have to call my younger brother sometime today. I called yesterday evening to give him updates on Don. He answered his phone from an Emergency Room. He'd fallen from a ladder. Will the blessings never end, Oh Lord.

I'm waiting in an empty parish hall for the 1030 service to end so I can take William home.  I plan on visiting my brother this afternoon.

For those so inclined, The Daily Office Morning Prayer The parish prayer list.

I woke after eight hours of sound sleep.(sound sleep is code for I didn't need to get up even once to pee in the middle of the night)
The weather forecast.
The happy number has returned!πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘
As I enter this there're images of Hagen Daz dancing in my head. I must resist!😠 I have a lab appointment for the 28th and a doctor appointment the following week. I'm working hard to get the diabeties and weight under control. Damn you Hagen Daz! Damn you Ben and Jerry!

I talked with my brother on the phone last night. I'm releived to learn he's adjusted to the idea htat he'll be released to a rehab facility when he's discharged from UTMB Angleton/Danbury. I'll call his granddaughter to make sure she stays on track with getting approval for funding from the VA.

For those so inclined, The Daily Office, Morning Prayer Thursday after the Fifth Sunday after Pentecost William White, Bishop of Pennsylvania, 1836Parish Prayer list.

I woke after nine - ten hours of sound sleep and pleasent dreams.

The weather forecast (keep in mind that we're in the later half of hurricanne season and we've been so far spared)
.Not the number I was thinking it would be, but still just a smidge above target.
Witnessing the Hell my brother is currently going through with his weight and diabeties, I'm trying hard to stay on in the program of weight control (currently 198 - 200 pounds) and blood glucose management (fasting morning range of 70 to 110).

I missed Scrabble again yesterday. I was getting mixed signals from family as to my brother's condition and didn't realy feel like distracting myself with fun and games. I'd like to think I spent the entire day in deep meditation and prayer for my brother, but that didn't happen, beyond the occasional "thought shot" to God about caring for him I was mostly concerned with the potential financial ruin the experience may bring to him.

I woke after seven hours of sound sleep.
The weather forecast.
This number was bumped up by "stress releaving" ice cream.πŸ˜žπŸ™Ž‍♂️

My brother Don is back in the hospital. This time he's in University of Texas Medical Branch Angleton/Danbury.There will be charges not covered by Medicare that are probaly going to wipe him out financially. Hence the "stress releaving" ice cream splurge yesterday.
I didn't go to the veteran's meeting last night. I was, frankly, too exhausted and in no mood to hear about other's, nor speak about my own, issues last night. I just wanted to go to bed and sleep. In my dreams last night I found myself walking around the streets of downtown Columbus, Georgia as I remember them from the time I lived there. I was walking with someone with whom I nearly had a disasterous relationship. We had a conversation about work and my job performance report.
