For those so inclined, The Daily Office, Morning Pray, All Saints Day
I woke after seven hours of sleep.😴👍
The weather report.☀️😊
Much better than yesterday!🩺❤️😊

I ended up spending more thaan $500.00 on tires for the Mercury yesterday. The pressure warning light sensor still needs replacing, but one thing at a time. I didn't want Sydney and Jimmy taking Don to Katy on tires that might fail. After replacing the tires I learned that they changed plans. Don decided he didn't want to go to Katy so Sydney and Jimmy are bringing Benjamin to visit with his grandma Nita in Pasadena in their own vehicle. All of which means I could have waited on the tires until after the mortgage is paid off (the tires were sufficient for short in-town trips). The mortgage pay off will now have to wait until February.🙎‍♂️😞

Yesterday began with a Mourners' Eucharist of light and dark at church.

It was a meaningful and beautiful celebration.  Fr. Travis used the thurible, which made my high church self glad. I ordered liturgical incense from the Monks Cell shop at Holy Cross monastery years ago. I've got to find it and bring it to church in the oft chance the thurible ever gets used again.😊
As I was leaving I complimented Fr. Travis on his weight loss, telling him he looked like he's been working out. After ragging him about his weight gain over the past year by warning him he was going to end up like me in twenty seven years, overweight and too weak to get off the floor should he fall, I owed him acknowledgement for his efforts. Being too old to resist giving advice or voicing opinions, I reminded him that he has three sons for whom he should set a good example. If he plans on exercising his ministry to mandatory retirement age, or beyond, physical health and strength will enable him to reach his goal.

I just blew a hole in the checking account. I ordered creamers and pastries for church in the morning, soups, cat food, hot dogs and buns, for me from Walmart. Not having to go to Kroger for the church stuff saves me time in the morning and having everything delivered saves money on gas. $116 is a chunk, admittedly, but shopping from home almost completely eliminates impulse buying.
