I woke after eight hours of sound sleep.😴😺👍
The day started with a call from the veteran whose dad died last Friday. Our conversation will disturb me for most of the day in that his speech indicated an altered state (either alcohol or grass, alcohol being the most likely). It was alcohol that initiated him into the court program for veterans experiencing difficulty adjusting to civilian life. I didn't ask if he'd been drinking, I know better. I won't mention this call to the facilitator of the group, Eloy. Eloy is a "rescuer" and I think he would jump into the vets life trying to fix it, to only drive him away, not to mention the rift it would cause between me and the vet. I care about both guys so I don't want to "stir any pots."
The calendar in my phone indicates that today is the day I need to take care of the business to pay off the mortgage. I'm already starting the day emotionally confused and conflicted. I may wait until tomorrow. I'll at least call the local bank and ask if I can buy a cashiers check with my debit card from an online bank, or if I'll nneed to get cash from ATMs.
One thing at a time. One day at a time.
