For those so inclined, The Daily Office Mid-day Prayer

The day has started out on a sour note.I went to the church. This is what it looks like when I arrive on Sundays. I like to get there before anyone else.

Just before taking the above picture I checked the fridge for creamers and ground the coffee for the coffee hour/Bible study between the 0830hrs and 1030hrs Masses. Then I had to make a quick trip to the gents room. I thought I'd totally emptied that function at home, but a wave of nausea and urgency signalled otherwise. After that delay
I headed for Walmart to get two bottles of Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte and a Walmart brand Peppermint Bark creamer.  I also picked up three varieties of muffins. A highlight of my week is sharing time with Fr. Travis, and Dr. Carpenter,(retired). We enjoy conversation and coffee before the early Mass. The muffins are for him. I don't partake because of the diabeties and because my tradition is to fast before Mass., My early journey in the Episcopal Church tended to the "high church"tradition of practice. He once said he tried the fast bit and it resulted in a sugar drop in the middle of his duties at the altar. (that's not a good thing.)
While at Walmart I had to make another quick trip to the gents room before checking out.
After returning to the parish hall kitchen and preparing the coffee makers (and just before Fr. Travis arrived) I had to make an urgent trip to the non ventilated water closet that opens to the kitchen. I hate going in that room! Search the Internet with, "sanitation concerns unventilated bathroom that opens into a kitchen"or similar and you'll get my point.
Wrapping up this "lifes little episode" I was still nauseous and the grumbling in my nether regions indicated a looming disaster. I said Fr. Travis, "you know I show my appreciation for you with fresh coffee and muffins every Sunday, but I'm going to go home, I'm not feeling well."By this time I was not paying attention to his response, I was focused on praying I'd get home to Kaopectate and my own bathroom, the one that's ventilated and well supplied with Lysol sanitizing air freshener (Lavender scented). I made it nearly in time. My boxer shorts and jeans are currently in the wash. After downing a measure of Kaoectate (I'm not supposed to take that because of my prescribed medications, but one has to do what one has to do) and a quick shower I was feeling as weak as a kitten so I took a nap.
So goes the start of my day. I believe I'll nap until it's time for bed. Who knew being in ones seventies would be so action packed?
