I was going to take a nap this afternoon but ended up talking with my brother Bill in Massachusetts. His town voted for Harris by only 48 votes. Two days after working fourteen hours at the polls his wife Carol had to take him to the hospital. He just got home yesterday. He had a gastroinfection, which in his case is not good. He had stomach reduction surgery about fifteen years ago and has had several bouts of bladder cancer, an esophageal cancer that went to stage three before being "cured." He sounded truly rough on the phone so I didn't keep him long.
A veteran that comes to the meetings on Tuesday nights drove by Holy Comforter this morning on his way to a UA. He's asked about the church a few times. I told him if he wants to check it out he shouold come early to the early service so he can enjoy a cup of coffee and a muffin with Fr Travis and the early morning gab group. I told him he can sit by me and partcipate or observe (nobody bites).
That wraps up the afternoon. Someone, I think the woman next door, has a radio or television blaring away It's only 1646hrs, but I've taken my meds so it's time for bed.
