On the agenda today, Scrabble at church, replace my cell phone at Verizon, and update the checkbook register and spending projections for
November. It doesn't sound like a lot so hopefully I'll get it all done.
Last night's meeting for veterans in the court program was dismal. Only one participant attended. It became a personal therapy session for him and I had to cut it short at 1845hrs. I don't know if Eloy, the group facillitator, was pleased with that, but I wanted to get home before complete darkness set in.
My brother should be relieved as I checked the bank this morning to see it the SS deposits made it to my, and his, account. He listens to progressive talk radio every day (almost all day) and I'm pretty sure that the government shut down and the GOP's threat to entitlement programs has him worried that &qout;they're " going to kill (privitize) Social Security has him staying awake at night. I try to calm him by encouraging him to take control of those things within his "sphere of influence." I don't know that that helps. Mr. Mistofellees is having nightmares or ,at least, unsettling dreams as he's "meowing " in his sleep.
