I'm skating on thin ice when it comes to maintaining a checking account balance above $2,000.Paying an additional $1,000 a month on the mortgage is squeezing me a bit, but it will be worth it to get the damn thing paid off by January 2026. The target date has already been moved ahead for a month because I paid BOA Visa $1,500 last month in anticipation of the vehicle insurance charge of $921 this month.
